Historic Harmony Family Photos

A few days ago I had my very last session of the year! (For now ;) ) And it was with a really special family in one of my favorite spots!

This family moved a few years ago from Texas - away from their home state and families - up to PA to help plant New Horizon Church. We have had the privilege of getting to do life with them over the past several years and love them dearly! And since their family has grown by a whole member since they first came to PA, it was time for some updated photos!

And even better... Grandma just so happened to be in town, so she got to jump in for a few photos, too!

'Tis the season for family photos!

I loved photographing this family of three (almost four!) in celebration of this season that's coming down the pike for them! They chose one of my favorite spots... Historic Harmony! And it was all decorated for Christmas, which made it all the more fun!

Congratulations to this sweet family on their soon-to-be extra addition!

The sweetest in home family session to celebrate one year of life for little Ezra!

We had the pleasure of getting to be neighbors with this sweet family until just about a month ago, when they moved to another part of town! So of course, it was a joy to see them in a beautiful new space. Even though we were sad to see them go!

In home sessions can be a great way to get some photos of the fam in the comfort of your own space, away from the cold! Ezra stayed happy and content in a space he was familiar with, which made things easier for mom & dad!

An in home session can be a great option for the colder months here in Pittsburgh. Enjoy a few of my favorites from their session!

Behind the Scenes 2023

What a beautiful year it has been! 2023 was another year full of seniors, families, and couples, and I could not have been more grateful to every single person who gave me the opportunity to take their photo this year!

IN A NUTSHELL…

This was my first photo season with a baby! Our daughter was born in January of 2023, which was a blessing in regards to timing - having a few months without any photo sessions at all really allowed us to acclimate to a new season of life with a new family member. We love her so much!

This year, I purposefully took fewer weddings and sessions to allow space for the unknown territory we were heading into… and I could not have been more grateful for that. I still had the privilege of photographing 9 beautiful wedding days and over 60+ senior, family, engagement, and commercial shoots. It was still a busy year, even with slightly less work than previous years!

THANK YOU TO…

This year would literally have been impossible without the help of our grandparents, who watched our daughter during many photo shoots and office hours. Jean, Chris, Lisa, and Joe - we are so thankful for you and for how you love Lucy (and us!). And we are so thankful for the many other friends & family members who helped us, too.

I would be remiss to not give an enormous shout out to my husband. He photographed almost every wedding for me, stepped in to assist for sessions when I wasn’t able to find anyone else, and was the most present dad ever in the process. I am so thankful for you!

And one more big thank you to everyone else who assisted me at shoots and weddings - Alisha, Erica, Kelli, Hannah, Robin (I hope I’m not forgetting anyone!) - none of these sessions would’ve been possible without you! Thank you for loving and encouraging my clients so well!

Frick Park Family Photos

I am always excited when I’m asked to take photos around Frick Park/the Frick Museum in Pittsburgh. It is such a beautiful area of Pittsburgh that I don’t always have an excuse to visit… so getting to work there is always exciting!

And it just so happens that I have gotten to photograph this couple twice in this beautiful location that is oh-so special to them!

I took Petra & Kevin’s engagement photos back in 2020 in these very locations - and three years and one baby later, I was so excited to be back here again with them! With plans to possibly move out of state, they wanted to document - one more time - how special this spot is to them.

It was such a pleasure to get to photograph this sweet family. Enjoy a few of my favorite images from their session below!

Luke B: Preston Park (Butler) Senior Photos

Meet Luke!

I have been loving the opportunity I've had over the past few months to photograph so many seniors in so many different locations! I took Luke's senior photos at Preston Park in Butler on a warm November afternoon... Preston Park is a great park that always has such beautiful light! Don't sleep on late fall sessions... they are always some of my favorites, and this one is no exception!

Luke is a senior at Butler High School who loves boxing. He was a total natural in front of the camera and made my job so easy!

I loved Luke’s approach to his outfit changes, too - he had three different flannels for his session, but kept his base layers the same (the sweatshirt/jeans). The flannel change was easy, quick, and allowed him to get a little variety without spending too much time changing during his session!

Congratulations on your senior year, Luke!

Meet Hayden!

I photographed Hayden in my favorite town... Zelienople! It truly had an endless amount of locations for urban style photos, which was exactly what Hayden was looking for. I loved getting to photograph someone in a location that I am so personally familiar with!

Hayden attends Canon-McMillan and plans to study something in the engineering or medical field post high school - he is a super smart one! He loves playing video games and is into Japanese culture.

We chased the evening light all around town... even behind the local BP gas station, much to the surprise of a few locals who were passing by You never know where the best light will end up being!

Congratulations on your senior year, Hayden!

Meet Travis!

He's a senior at Butler High School who plays baseball, and who hopes to study engineering post high school! Because of his love for baseball, he chose the North Shore for his photos. It was so much fun to get PNC Park in the background of some of his photos, along with the beautiful cityscape!

Travis chose a morning time slot for his senior session, which I loved, because there were so few people around the places we wanted to use for photos. It was great!

Also, fun fact, Travis has never been to Chipotle.

Congratulations on your senior year, Travis!

Meet Hannah!

She's a senior at Slippery Rock High School who hopes to study criminology post graduation She dances, loves fall, and was a treat to photograph at Moraine State Park on a chilly late fall day!

Moraine was the perfect spot for Hannah's photos, because her family lives so close! And it's always just so beautiful there, especially in the fall. Even though a winter dusting had come through a few days before her session, we were still able to find some of the last remaining fall color!

Congratulations on your senior year, Hannah!

I also need to give a big shout out to my husband, Nick, and my mom, Jean, for helping me with these sessions. It wouldn’t have been possible for me to do everything required by myself. Your support means the world!

And without further ado, here are some highlights from this year’s Christmas tree farm mini session event!
