Rebecca + Zac | Soergel's Orchard Engagement

Let me just start out by saying that fall is my absolute favorite season! So, obviously - I was completely stoked when Becca contacted me early summer asking if we could wait until fall for her and Zac's engagement shoot! The shoot took place at Soergel's Orchard in Wexford, PA on a gorgeous, sunny morning. Becca and Zac made my job easy - they are so natural with each other and in front of the camera. Thanks for a great shoot, and best of luck to the two of you! 2013-10-07_0002.jpg 2013-10-07_0005.jpg 2013-10-07_0001.jpg 2013-10-07_0007.jpg 2013-10-07_0003.jpg 2013-10-07_0004.jpg 2013-10-07_0010.jpg 2013-10-07_0011.jpg 2013-10-07_0006.jpg 2013-10-07_0008.jpg 2013-10-07_0012.jpg 2013-10-07_0009.jpg

Shannon + Kyle | Parker Wedding

Shannon and Kyle had a beautiful barn wedding (complete with handmade decorations by the bride) in Parker, Pennsylvania in early August. This wedding was special for quite a few reasons - but the most important being that Kyle is Nick's (my boyfriend) brother! It was an honor to be chosen to capture their big day. Congratulations Shannon and Kyle, your day was beautiful! 2013-10-07_0028.jpg 2013-10-07_0029.jpg 2013-10-07_0027.jpg 2013-10-07_0033.jpg 2013-10-07_0030.jpg 2013-10-07_0031.jpg 2013-10-07_0032.jpg 2013-10-07_0025.jpg 2013-10-07_0026.jpg 2013-10-07_0024.jpg 2013-10-07_0034.jpg 2013-10-07_0020.jpg 2013-10-07_0021.jpg 2013-10-07_0022.jpg 2013-10-07_0035.jpg 2013-10-07_0023.jpg 2013-10-07_0036.jpg 2013-10-07_0019.jpg 2013-10-07_0016.jpg 2013-10-07_0017.jpg 2013-10-07_0018.jpg 2013-10-07_0014.jpg 2013-10-07_0037.jpg 2013-10-07_0038.jpg 2013-10-07_0015.jpg

Carter Smith is a senior graduating from Eden Christian Academy in the spring of 2014. He is an awesome cross country runner (we used his track shoes and a medal he won for a few of his photos) and an all around great guy! His session took place on a sunny afternoon at McConnell's Mill State Park. Good luck with your senior year, Carter! Thanks for a great session! 2013-09-03_0011.jpg 2013-09-03_0012.jpg 2013-09-03_0014.jpg 2013-09-03_0016.jpg 2013-09-03_0015.jpg 2013-09-03_0013.jpg

Photographing People with a Purpose

I love photographing people. With it comes countless stories and connections. Sometimes, when I strike up a conversation with a stranger in Starbucks or at the Y, I find myself thinking "I would love to shoot a portrait of this person!" As odd as that might seem, I feel like it's part of what aids me in my love of photographing people. Everyone has a story, and everyone deserves to tell said story. And while lots of people love novels with page upon page of neverending text (don't get me wrong - I love them too!), I enjoy a book with a few photos thrown into the mix. It helps give whatever you're reading about a face (so to speak), and sometimes speaks more to what the author is trying to convey than an endless arrangement of carefully written text. As they say - a picture is worth a thousand words. So without further ado, meet a wonderful lady named Dot (who just so happens to be my boyfriend's grandma). Dot loves peanut butter cups and a good old cup of coffee. And for all the food she eats (once I saw her eat 6 cupcakes in one sitting), she somehow manages to stay petite! Here's a little bit of her story: A wedding photo. 2013-08-08_0009.jpg An old yearbook. 2013-08-08_0010.jpg 2013-08-08_0012.jpg 2013-08-08_0011.jpg A little glare on the glasses, but her look - priceless. 2013-08-08_0013.jpg

Outerbanks, NC

These photos have been put on the backburner for a while now. Who knew summer could be so busy (with awesome stuff, nonetheless)! As the saying goes - better late than never! 2013-08-07_0010.jpg 2013-08-07_0019.jpg 2013-08-07_0016.jpg 2013-08-07_0012.jpg 2013-08-07_0015.jpg 2013-08-07_0013.jpg 2013-08-07_0014.jpg 2013-08-07_0017.jpg 2013-08-07_0018.jpg 2013-08-07_0011.jpg

Delaware & New York City

These past few months of summer have provided me with more travel opportunities than ever before in my short life! From Ireland to the Outer Banks to a family reunion in Deleware with a day trip to New York City – I have been more than blessed. And thank God I have had a camera at my side the entire time! Something I truly love about bringing my camera along on my adventures is capturing a place I’ve never been before from a unique perspective – my own. Sure, it’s one thing to look at photos of a place and dream of going there, but it’s another to actually go and photograph it for yourself. Somehow, it makes that place and the people you experienced it with a little closer to your heart.

So for that reason - here's to many more adventures.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain
