Surrounded by friends and family on their big day, Sam and Brian's Pittsburgh wedding was the perfect way to commemorate a relationship that started at Robert Morris University in Moon Township. Because they moved to Jacksonville, Florida shortly after the wedding, Sam and Brian opted to have photos taken downtown to remember the city where they met. Congratulations to this sweet couple!

Melanie and John's intimate wedding took place at the Chapel Valley Estates Bed & Breakfast in late June. Even though the ceremony was rained out and moved inside the tent, Melanie and John's immense love for one another was seen by every person in attendance.
A huge thanks to the wonderful people at Chapel Valley Estates for their wonderful service and kindness throughout the day!
Lexy and Anthony's gorgeous Historic Summit Inn Hotel wedding was loaded with the most beautiful details, from stunning accessories, to a crystal beaded dress, to a sweet ceremony in the church where her parents had been married years before. Everything about this wedding was glamorous and heartfelt, and I couldn't feel more honored to have been asked to capture it in these photos! Especially since Lexy (and now Anthony, too!) and her family are like family to mine. We love you guys!
In addition to photographing this gorgeous affair, we also had the honor of filming her wedding (a first for JHP!) Be sure to scroll through all of the photos to the bottom of this post for a sneak peak of Lexy and Anthony's teaser video - filmed by my talented fiancé, Nick Sasala!

Wonderful couple, classic Pittsburgh wedding style, and gorgeous shoes... what more could a photographer ask for?! We had a great time hanging out with Jess and Micah on their wedding day! Their ceremony took place at the always stunning Heinz Chapel in Oakland, where her biological and adoptive fathers walked her down the aisle, followed by a reception at the Double Tree in Monroeville. Between the ceremony and reception, we had time for photos at the Cathedral of Learning and the Mellon Institute... as well as the Roberto Clemente bridge downtown! It was a bit of a miracle we were able to shoot on the bridge, considering there was a Taylor Swift concert and Three Rivers Arts Festival going on that night, simultaneously. There was no parking available, so we hopped out of our cars and took a few shots while my second photographer and members of the bridal party drove around Pittsburgh waiting for us. Talk about being blessed by working with fantastic people!
Congratulations, Jess and Micah! Thank you for giving us the honor of photographing your beautiful day!

As 2014 comes to a close, I've spent some time looking back over my first official year in business. It's been an incredible ride filled with some incredible people, places, and learning experiences. I truly, from the bottom of my heart, can't begin to thank everyone enough who has supported me and my business in some way - from the awesome clients I've been priviledged to work with to other fantastic photographers who have somehow poured into me, to my fiance, friends, and family who have encouraged me along the way. God has been so good! I'm so incredibly thankful that He's given me the opportunity to do what I love, and to love other people in the process. Speaking of things I love - I wanted to use this blog post to review some of my favorite wedding venues of this year! There are four I shot at this year that I particularly loved, each for a variety of different reasons. Let the countdown begin: 4. Hartwood Acres Mansion

Hartwood Acres Mansion is a gorgeous, castle-like structure located in Allegheny County Park. Its beautiful architecture and colorful flowers (at the right time of year!) surrounded by 629 acres of forest and park make it the perfect location for an intimate wedding.

The Children's Museum of Pittsburgh is not your typical wedding venue - which is why it's one of my favorites! Flooded with interesting exibits and colorful details, the museum gives any wedding a unique, artistic feel.
2. Lingrow Farm

This little farm in Gilpin Township has some seriously beautiful views! Get married under a pavilion overlooking a small body of water and breathtaking country landscape - you might even see a couple of horses running about! 1. Shady Elms Farm

So.. as you can tell, I LOVE farm weddings! Shady Elms Farm was quite possibly my favorite wedding venue I had the honor of photographing this year! This farm is the perfect spot for a charming country wedding, with little details hidden in every corner (which might be why I loved it so much!). Complete with a sweet country farm house and a stunning barn, this place is perfect for any bride who wants a rustic wedding! (This wedding was featured on local Pittsburgh blog "Lace and Loyalty" http://www.laceandloyalty.com/real-weddings/shady-elms-farm-wedding-jenna-hidinger/ ) Though these four are my favorite from this year - there are some other places I would love to give an honorable mention to! Schnoodleberry Farm and the White Barn (my wedding venue this coming summer!) are two places I've visited before but have never had the opportunity to photograph. If you're a bride looking at any of these venues, I'd love to hear from you! Send a message using the "Contact" tab in the navigation bar above, or email me directly at jhidingerphotography@gmail.com. Happy new year - and here's to 2015!

Amy and Micah's earthy and romantic wedding took place at the Connoquenessing Country Club in Ellwood City. Amy incorporated tons of gorgeous details into the day, including a flower crown, light pink bridesmaid dresses, and a lavendar toss as they exited the church. I couldn't be more excited to share the photos from their beautiful day! Congrats to a wonderful couple! In the photo below, Amy is standing where Micah proposed to her months before, under a wooden frame he constructed for the proposal.
It was an absolute pleasure to photograph Meghan and Lance's beautiful day. They had a small, intimate ceremony with family (10 kids total!) and close friends, and a gorgeous day. Congratulations to one of the sweetest couples we've had the pleasure to work with! A big thanks to Paul Wintruba for second shooting, and to Lingrow Farms for being fantastic to work with!

Rachel and Casey had a gorgeous day for their wedding at the Club at Shadow Lakes. The ceremony took place on the first hole of the course, nodding to the groom's love for golf! It was such a pleasure to work with such a light-hearted, sweet couple. Congratulations to these two great people!
Julianna and Josh had a beautiful ceremony at the Hartwood Acres mansion this past August. We wish this sweet couple all the best in their new marriage! A huge thanks to Sara Dinwiddie for second shooting this wedding with me!
Julia and Thomas tied the knot in mid-August with a sweet, emotional ceremony at the Hyeholde Restaurant in Coraopolis. Most of their guests were from out of town (Taiwan, China, Philippines, Switzerland, Texas - just to name a few places), and it was easy to see the love and support surrounding this couple from their friends and family throughout the entire day, and we were so blessed to have been a part of it. Congratulations to the newlyweds, and God bless! We love you guys. Venue: Hyeholde Restaurant Makeup and Hair: My Image
