JHP Senior Photo Highlights 2019

Out of all types of sessions I take, I take the most senior portrait sessions throughout the year - and there’s a reason for that! I absolutely love photographing seniors - I love how creative you can get with them in terms of posing, light, location, and personality - and they’re just so much fun!

2019 was a fun year for senior portraits. Per usual, I had a lot of sessions at Hartwood Acres Mansion (which I totally LOVE because it has so many great options!), but also had some sessions at a few new places, including the Heinz Hall Lobby & Gardens, the Lemieux Center, and at a few new places in the Strip District.

Over all, it was an absolutely amazing year, and I already can’t wait to start photographing seniors again for the class of 2021! Below are a few of my favorite images from my 2019 senior sessions. A HUGE thank you to each senior and family who trusted me with these once-in-a-lifetime memories. You all are the best! Enjoy!

We had some of the most beautiful, glowly light for Lydia's Hartwood Acres senior session - especially for November!

Taking Trey's senior portraits in the Heinz Hall Lobby was certainly a highlight!

We took some in their private garden too!

I love that Bella incorporated her love for Harry Potter into her session! If you’ve read the books/seen the movies, you’ll know what this is ;)

This was one of my new favorite spots from the entire year! I can’t wait to go back!

Sadly, I heard that they demolished this backdrop, which is a bummer! It was such a cool spot.

Shooting inside the Lemieux Center was so much fun!

Racquel really wanted some beautiful light in her photos - and thankfully, we got it!

Spring is one of my favorite times for senior photos - especially when the trees are blooming! 😍

And this, for sure, has to be one of my all time favorites!

Lydia L: Hartwood Acres Mansion Senior Photos

Hello gorgeous!!! We had the most beautiful fall-esque senior session at the beginning of November with Lydia at Hartwood Acres 😍

Lydia is a senior at Portersville Christian School who plays volleyball, and hopes to study dermatology! She's sweet, kind, and was a total pro in front of the camera. Congratulations on your last year of high school, Lydia! 💛

Ty T: Historic Harmony Senior Photos

Ty is a North Catholic lacrosse-playing senior who plans on attending Kentucky for engineering! I had the honor of photographing yesterday around one of my favorite spots, Historic Harmony. It's hard to believe that it's been three years since I photographed his brother at this very same location 😲 AND that I used to babysit them both back in the day! Time truly does fly. Congratulations on your last year of school, Ty! 🎉

Trey T: Heinz Hall Senior Portraits

Oh my. This senior session was such a fun one! I had the pleasure of photographing Trey in the Heinz Hall lobby and outdoor garden for his senior photos at the end of October!

Trey currently performs in the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra, and plays at Heinz Hall a few times a year, which made his location of choice extra personal! His instrument of choice is the clarinet - and he even played us a little bit of music during his session. He is an incredible musician, and just an all around great guy!

Anthony W: McConnell's Mill Senior Photos

We had the most gorgeous morning for Anthony’s fall senior photos at McConnell’s Mill! As you’ll be able to tell from the photos below, Anthony is a football player and has a pretty sweet ride! Bella P: McConnell's Mill Senior Photos

Oh man, this was a fun one! Bella is a reader, Harry Potter lover (duh!), and just an all-around fun human to hang out with! She got a little extra creative with her senior photos, and decided to bring along some of her favorite Harry Potter gear to incorporate into her photos - which I was SO excited about, considering that I’m currently reading through the series for the first time ever!!

Allison H: Hartwood Acres Senior Photos

Allison is a dog-loving, book-reading, Lion King-loving self proclaimed old soul, who is particularly fond of all things fall, and of her rescue pup, Kensie! Who we, of course, had to incorporate into her senior photos! 😍🐕

Congratulations on your last year of high school, Allison! 💛 You are a gem, and it was such an honor to capture this precious time in your life!

Annabel W: Mars Area Senior Photos

Sometimes, the perfect spot for your senior photos is right in your backyard - and this was definitely the case for Annabel! Her and her family live on a beautiful property with a stable for their horses just north of Pittsburgh. I stopped by the week before the session to visit their space and couldn’t believe how much there was to work with photo-wise! Their property truly made the perfect, most personal backdrop.

Annabel dances and hopes to become a teacher someday! She’s already started taking college credit courses (go girl!) and has the best hair color ever! (Definitely not biased, considering my husband is a red head 😉).

Rebecca M: McConnell's Mill Senior Photos

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Rebekah’s senior photos a few weeks ago at McConnell’s Mill! Rebekah's family recently moved fairly recently from Tennessee to Pennsylvania - she's a fan of German food, is the only sibling in her family (one of four!) not named after a book of the bible, and is an ice skater! ⛸ Congratulations on your last year of school, Rebekah!!

Rebekah’s family joined us for a “mini” family session after her senior photo session! A mini family session can be added on to any senior session for an additional fee. Olivia R: Hartwood Acres Mansion Senior Photos

Oh my, I had so much fun photographing Olivia! Not only is she beautiful and so easy to take photos of, but she’s such a genuine and kind person from the inside out! I actually had the privilege of taking Olivia’s brother’s senior photos a couple of years ago, so I was incredibly excited when her mom reached out to me about taking Olivia’s!
