Jasmine D: University of Pittsburgh Senior Photographer

Meet Jasmine!

Jasmine is a senior at the University of Pittsburgh who is graduating in just a few weeks! She is the first of her family to graduate with a degree, and one of the ways she wanted to celebrate was with senior photos. Which I absolutely love! High school senior photos are popular.. but collegiate senior photos have been growing in popularity over the years. Graduating college is such a huge accomplishment and can be such a worthwhile investment!

Jasmine is originally from out of state, so capturing the Pittsburgh skyline and bridges were musts. We started our session right near PNC Park! After we spent some time on the North Shore, we headed over to Pitt's campus in Oakland for some photos with the Panther Statue, in front of Heinz Chapel, and a few around the Cathedral of Learning.

We were hit with a wind and rain storm for the last part of her session, but she was willing to push through.. and I think you can barely tell!

Thanks for being willing to roll with the punches, Jasmine. You are a joy!

Vincenzia V: University of Pittsburgh White Coat Photo Session

Meet Vincenzia! She is a future physician who recently completed a degree in bioengineering, and who is starting med school - and she wanted to celebrate with a photo session (which I LOVE!). Earning a degree is a huge accomplishment - certainly something that deserves to be documented!

We started off Vincenzia’s session in front of Pitt’s Med School, and then headed to the Mellon Institute, and Pitt’s lower campus, including Heinz Chapel, the Cathedral of Learning, and the Schenley Fountain.

Vincenzia chose to wear her white coat (which she had just received days prior!) and a bright blue Pitt colored dress for her first outfit, then the same colored jumpsuit for her second. I love how she tied the school’s colors into her session… and the blue was such a great “pop” of color against the Oakland backdrops.

Vincenzia is the third in her family who I’ve had the pleasure of photographing! (See the first here and the second here), so it was a treat to be able to photograph her, too!

Connor D: Franklin Regional High School Senior Photos in Oakland PA

Connor is a senior at Franklin Regional High School who is graduating this Spring with the class of 2022! He is the quarterback for his school’s football team, and plans to study business post-high school.

Connor chose Oakland for his senior photos. We began at Mellon Institute, then worked our way over to the Cathedral of Learning. There are so many great locations in Oakland for senior photos right within that small area that encompass both architecture and nature!

Leading up to his session, we weren’t sure it was even going to be able to happen. Throughout the week, the forecast was calling for rain ALL day - literally! And then, when the rainy forecast finally cleared the morning of his session, a new forecast of strong winds showed up. Strong winds can sometimes be problematic during a photo session, unless you’re fully committed to that “Beyonce” wind-in-the-hair look. And while I’m sure Connor could’ve pulled it off, it wasn’t really the look he wanted to go for!

Ultimately, though - we did decide together to move forward with the session! And I’m glad we did. We had lots of buildings in Oakland to hide around, and tried to shoot between wind gusts. And Connor was a great sport through it all - we had a great time hanging out with him!
